Maryland Landscapes in Oils

An artist since childhood, Nancy prefers painting outdoors on location, with both oils and pastels.  With oils, her use of a painting knife gives a unique light-catching texture and depth to her scenes.

Her typical subjects are landscape and gardens in her Potomac, Bethesda and Rockville, MD area, scenes in Washington DC and along the C & O Canal, and seascapes of Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Since 1968, she has painted constantly and won over 200 awards, including many first place and popular choice awards, best-in-show, and the Grumbacher Award for best use of the oils medium.  Over 1,000 of her paintings are in collections both in the U. S. and abroad.

Nancy's work is exhibited in art shows and galleries, and may be seen at the Delaplaine Visual Arts and Education Center in Frederick, MD, and in the City Art Shop at the Arts Barn in Gaithersburg, MD.

She is a member of the Frederick County Art Association, the Delaplaine Visual Arts and Education Center, the Rockville Art League, the Montgomery County Plein Air Artists, and the Frederick Plein Air Painters.
